A Week of New Additions ! 

With the pure relief and excitement of launching my first every company beginning to subside now, the last 12 days have quite literally been a blur. Sales have been nursed along by the support of friends and family, and the logistics of 104 lines in 5-6 sizes each, has been a huge part of the time spent somewhat resembling a headless chicken this past week. We are learning lessons all along the way through this journey so unforeseen issues and problems are quite simply not an issue for us, they are just something that needs solving each time they occur.
 
As the stock has kept arriving, one simple fact that is pretty much set in stone is that designs and garments not displayed professionally on the website are going to remain squarely in their boxes from the factory ! Therefore, constant photography and editing followed by uploads and Facebook blasts have paced the past 7 days, as I try to keep abreast of incoming designs. There are still 10 plus items not on the www.southern-marine.co.uk site at this time, but heh...that's what weekends are for !

So what is new ?? .... Well firstly, almost all the imagery....We are working with huge opening ranges and the photographic content lacked pure consistency. Therefore, at a week old, the site is gaining it's first lick of paint, in the form of added light and colour. I hope you enjoy the changes, subtle as they are. I also personally felt many garment pictures were too dark, not fully reflecting the wonderful splashes of colour many of the design's contain.

The range of garments has also expanded massively since our 1st February launch. Essentially we have doubled the variety in 12 days, running now with 31 Men's T Shirts, 16 Women's T shirts, 13 Men's L/Sleeves, 4 Ladies L/Sleeves, 17 polo shirts, 5 hoodies, 7 Sweatshirts, 3 sweaters, 3 Gilets, 2 Soft shells, Gloves, Beanies, Caps and 3 scarves and perhaps a partridge in a pear tree.
    

   

Here is just a small sample, but I hope you agree, the colours are quite striking in many of the new designs. Rather than clog up this mail with pictures, I would urge you to visit the site this weekend and have a browse, and if you haven't taken the plunge yet with a purchase, just pick any one item and give it a try. Remember, using the code LAUNCH20 at checkout will give you 20% off the garment prices in February. The quality of these products is of real importance to what we want to stand for and project, and I am extremely confident that the rich feel and comfort of these garments will surprise many, in a very positive way.

  

New scarves arrived today, which is great as we sold our last Clare yesterday and the Kyms are running low. There will also be new polo shirts and long sleeves for the ladies over the weekend, so please log in and follow as the site evolves.
 
I welcome all feedback and please don’t hesitate to let me know your thoughts as I find my way in these early days. Six customers have already asked about shorts !   They are planned and on the drawing board. So too is a small but tasteful golf range, as these garments transverse many sporting uses with their versatility.

We are climbing in the search engine rankings rapidly, which is never a bad thing at the birthing stage of a company, so hopefully we should be easier to find going forward. Please drop me a note if you have any questions or requests. Lastly, please send me any pictures you take of Southern Marine as its spreads slowly across the globe. Sri Lanka was it's first sighting 3 days after launch !   We will map the world and follow our garments travels. It will be interesting to see just how far from the beaches of Suffolk we can get !
